Axle boxes
MMR Group TransComfort supplies axle boxes for freight wagons from the renowned German manufacturer Silbitz Group. The basic task of axle boxes is to transfer the weight and load of the rail vehicle body to the wheelset, as well as to reduce friction and driving resistance.
BA386 axle boxes have a slim design and optimized weight of 65 kg, which causes a significant reduction in rail wear and a reduction in CO2 emissions by up to 10%. Axle boxes are used for a maximum axle load of up to 25 tons.
The axle boxes are mounted on the axle bearing journals along with the axle bearings. The shape of the axle box is determined by the type of wheel set guidance used and the type of first degree suspension used.
