MMR Group TransComfort and Trelleborg Antivibration Solutions technical roadshow

From 6-10 July, MMR Group TransComfort conducted a series of technical training visits together with its strategic supplier of metal-rubber components, Trelleborg Antivibration Solutions (TAVS). The meetings were held at PESA S.A., Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Institute of Technology, FPS Cegielski, MPK Olsztyn, NEWAG S.A., and EC-Engineering.

During meetings with procurement and engineering teams of MMR Group TransComfort’s clients, Trelleborg Antivibration Solutions presented its capabilities, with particular emphasis on the innovative HALL Bush trailing arm guidance solution.

The HALL Bush is a passive trailing arm guidance bushing that provides two distinctly different longitudinal stiffness characteristics depending on whether the rail vehicle is negotiating a curve or travelling on straight track. As an alternative solution, we also presented the “Elastic Support” product portfolio. In addition, TAVS showcased its solutions for high-speed rolling stock and its engineering capabilities in the design and development of running gear systems for all types of rail vehicles, including passenger coaches as well as four- and six-axle locomotive bogies.

At MPK Olsztyn, an additional technical workshop was held to address the issue of primary suspension spring settlement, which has been causing coupling adjustment problems on one of the operator’s tram vehicles. TAVS is currently working on a comprehensive redesign of the trailing arm guidance system together with the bogie’s primary suspension.

The customer meetings also provided an excellent opportunity to review the status of ongoing component deliveries for various rolling stock projects, as well as to discuss customers’ engineering requirements related to numerical analysis and the input data required for dynamic simulations of rail vehicle running behaviour.

We would like to thank the representatives of Trelleborg Antivibration Solutions for their professional support and valuable technical contribution throughout the visit.
