On September 27-29, 2022, the Intermodal in Poland 2 conference, organized by the IntermodalNews.pl, was held in Janów Podlaski. MMR Group TransComfort was among the sponsors of the meeting.
Intermodal in Poland is the largest conference of the combined transport industry in Poland, which brings together over 300 experts, entrepreneurs and representatives of public administration. During the September edition, the most important challenges on the intermodal transport market in Poland and worldwide were discussed, in the face of i.a. war in Ukraine and geopolitical changes. The role of the Małaszewicze Reloading Region as the most important point of the New Silk Road in Europe was also emphasized.
MMR Group TransComfort was the main partner of the Intermodal in Poland 2 conference – company representatives participated in the debates (“Modal change in freight transport – administrative and economic conditions” and “Sea ports as a key link in the logistics chains”), and also presented wide product, advisory and service possibilities in the field of railway diagnostics, especially the SMCV vertical load measurement system on the railway network.
Excessive axle imbalance, overloaded axles or wheel defects increase the risk of accidents and reduce the service life of the rail. The SMCV system is used to check and monitor the load of the rolling stock in terms of traffic safety, impose corrective measures on railway companies and reduce the costs of maintaining railway networks by reducing track wear or damage. The main areas of application of the system are container terminals, industrial plants, railroads with freight or mixed traffic, and above all, rail border crossings. The use of the SMCV system becomes therefore particularly important in the context of the reloading terminal in Małaszewicze.
