Curve rail lubrication system CL-E1ws BA ELPA applies lubricant with the use of dosing modules to the precisely defined rail surfaces, after the run of a rail vehicle wheel onto the mechanical drive unit. The CHFC lubricant, distributed through the wheel, reduces rail wear up to 3.3 times, rail friction noise by up to 99.9%, as well as wheel wear on rail vehicles.
Curve rail lubrication system has a mechanical drive module which is used to power lubrication devices directly via a flexible shaft, connected on the one hand to a mechanical drive actuator powered by kinetic energy from the wheels of the rail vehicle, and on the other hand to the dosing module of the device. The CL-E1ws BA lubrication system does not require an external power source or wheel sensor and can be remotely monitored via email or phone.
In mid-2022, MMR Group TransComfort has completed a year-long field trial of the CL-E1ws BA curve rail lubrication system – the device is operating on the railway line no. 94 Kraków Płaszów-Oświęcim (8,100 km, circular arc radius R=301.5 m). Closing tests carried out by representatives of the Cracow University of Technology showed that after the application of the CHFC lubricant:
- braking distance at several speeds, including the maximum for the line, did not increase,
- the electrical resistance at the wheel-rail contact has not changed – both before and after the CHFC application it was zero,
- the rate of side wear of the rails has decreased.
The result of the successfully completed field trials is the approval of the CL-E1ws BA curve rail lubrication system for use on railway lines managed by PKP PLK.
