MMR Group TransComfort at the ”Railway border crossings” conference

Dynamic economic changes, the increasing importance of railway border crossings for exports, as well as the beginning of a new EU budget perspective provoked the need to meet professionals from the intermodal transport and cargo industry. The conference “Railway border crossings – the key to export and transit” allowed for the presentation of the latest solutions in the field of technology and management of intermodal transport, as well as prospects for the development of modernization of transport infrastructure. The guests of the event were representatives of railway entities, terminals, road carriers, as well as government administration, border services, financial institutions, railway and business organizations. The conference was held as part of the European Year of Railways 2021.

MMR Group TransComfort (MMR Group Polska Sp.z o.o.) was the Key Partner of the conference. It promoted its solutions that increase safety in rail freight and passenger transport, and facilitate the processes of diagnostics and maintenance of track infrastructure elements. Moreover, it raised the awareness of the need to consider all road users, including cyclists and pedestrians (VeloGleis system), when developing modern infrastructure solutions.

MMR Group TransComfort presented during the lecture innovative solutions in the field of telecommunications, measuring devices and diagnostic systems for the railroad and overhead contact line. One of them is the system for measuring vertical loads (SMCV), which measures the vertical load exerted by each individual wheel of rolling stock running on a track with measuring devices installed. It is dedicated to monitor the rolling stock passing on a specific section of the line or leaving the station. The SMCV system enables the identification of cases of excessive and/ or disproportionate vertical load and the assessment of wheel alignment. It has already been tested and approved in Italy and Slovenia. Preparatory certification works of this system for the Polish market has already begun.

MMR Group TransComfort would like to thank for the valuable meeting of industry experts.

MMR Group TransComfort tests a machine for precision cutting of rails from polyurethane

MMR Group TransComfort has carried out tests of a machine designed for cutting rails out of polyurethane. The tests were conducted at the end of April in Łódź during repair works related to the need to replace rails embedded in polyurethane on a track shared with a bus roadway. The tested machine is the only one of its kind in Poland, and its technology was developed in Switzerland. This marks another step toward more efficient and modern maintenance of tram infrastructure.
