The RCS® system from MMR Group TransComfort for the green track as part of the Oś Zachodnia investment in Wrocław

The construction of the Oś Zachodnia in Wrocław consists of two projects: reconstruction of Kosmonautów St. (2.2 km from the Glinianki beach to the intersection with Fieldorf St.) and construction of Stabłowicka Av. The Mayor of Wrocław, Jacek Sutryk, summarized that the works will involve the construction of a total of 4.2 km of new roads, 5,675 m of bicycle paths, 5,875 m of sidewalks and 1,050 m of pedestrian and bicycle routes, and additionally approx. 900 trees will be planted along new roads. The cost of the investment is over 181 million PLN, and its contractor is the consortium Bickhardt Bau Polska, Bickhardt Bau AG, Przedsiębiorstwo Robót Inżynieryjnych KBI, Zakład Sieci i Zasilania and Instal Lech.

One of the key elements of the investment is a new 2.2 km green track on Kosmonautów St., near the New Cancer Hospital. For MMR Group TransComfort, this is another green track project which will be set up using the RCS® system. For the Oś Zachodnia investment, MMR Group TransComfort has provided 3537 mtp of the RCS® system for the 60R2 rail:

– external side profile M59576, 

– internal side profile M59575, 

– base profile – under the M80025 rail foot, 

– collars for welded joints of rails. 

 

The planned completion date of the investment is 2023.

MMR Group TransComfort tests a machine for precision cutting of rails from polyurethane

MMR Group TransComfort has carried out tests of a machine designed for cutting rails out of polyurethane. The tests were conducted at the end of April in Łódź during repair works related to the need to replace rails embedded in polyurethane on a track shared with a bus roadway. The tested machine is the only one of its kind in Poland, and its technology was developed in Switzerland. This marks another step toward more efficient and modern maintenance of tram infrastructure.
