On October 5-7, 2022 in Ustka, the 19th conference “Rolling Stock – Purchase, Modernization, Maintenance”, organized by Polska Izba Producentów Urządzeń i Usług na Rzecz Kolei[The Polish Chamber of Producers of Equipment and Services for Railways], was held. MMR Group TransComfort, as the silver sponsor of the meeting, paid special attention to safety and responsibility during the maintenance of rail vehicles.
The main goal of the ” Rolling Stock – Purchase, Modernization, Maintenance” conference is to promote railways as a sustainable, intelligent and safety means of transport. This year’s edition was special for MMR Group TransComfort, the silver partner of the conference. Representatives of the company gave a lecture on “Safety and responsibility in the operation and maintenance of rail vehicles”, and also showed the video “Proper maintenance of rail vehicles”, carried out with PESA Mińsk Mazowiecki:
The full version of the movie is available on YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/z-mQzVf6BfI
The main message of both the presentation and the video was the fact that the proper and professional selection of the 1st and 2nd degree suspension has a direct impact on the vehicle’s performance parameters in terms of:
- security – Y / Q (PN-EN 14363),
- comfort – Nmv (UIC 513).
When servicing railway vehicles, each component of the suspension of the vehicle is important. It is not allowed to ignore the requirements for vehicle inspection repair, which presupposes an absolute replacement of components after a period of 8 years or a distance of 1.2 million km (whichever occurs first). It is important to stock the workshop in advance, in accordance with the just-in-time principle, with original components which have been previously tested on the original, homologated vehicle and are the only ones appropriate for the overhaul at the P4 maintenance level. The speech of MMR Group TransComfort clearly indicated that employees of the workshop are faced with decisions which may have a direct impact on the health and life of railway passengers, on safety in rail transport.
MMR Group TransComfort would like to thank the organizers and participants for another essential meeting.
